Caroline had walked quite briskly, and had reached the grounds before Jesse. She was starting to wish she hadn't agreed to this walk; now she could think of better things to do than sit outside in the freezing cold weather. Sighing, she walked quickly over to a bench behind a tree and sat down, hoping he wouldn't see her so she could get back inside. ((ooc: sry so short no muse ))

Jesse followed her at a leisurely pace, half hoping she would just change her mind and bug off. No hope there, though she did seem to be hiding from him as they stepped outside. He walked to her. "Please, don't let me bore you into walking with me, you don't have to. Really, I just asked to be nice," Jesse informed her, his voice soft but truthful. He glanced around, looking for a distraction, but finding none. He waited.

Caroline rolled her eyes as Jesse approached her a spoke of how she didn't have to walk with him. She sighed, in a brilliant impersonation of indecision, and said, "Well.... I don't know. I probably should be supervising the library, not like anyone's there anyway, and it's pretty cold out..." She bit her pink-glossed lip, still pretending to be unsure. She didn't want to be rude to him, but the first chance she got Caroline was going to be away from Jesse like a shot. He was so dang boring! Carrie wanted something fun to do, not to hang around with a guy who barely said two words about anything of any interest.

Jesse gave a soft bow. "have fun in your library. I'm going swimming," Jesse replied softly. he gave her a quirky grin and turned to walk away. Any other girl, he would have found something else to talk about, but she seemed to loose interest too quickly with him. Maybe he would try a little harder. He stretched, and before even reaching the lake, not even out of her eye sight yet, he threw his shirt off. He restretched his stiff muscles and began to hum I Hate My Life by Theory of a Deadman under his breath.

Caroline nodded. "Have fun with Hypothermia, then," She said, shrugging. It would be hilarious to see him sneezing away in the hospital wing tomorrow. Caroline stood up and was about to turn, but caught site of Jesse pulling of his shirt before he even reached the lake. She stopped for a moment, startled by the size of his muscles; she hadn't seen anyone that looked like that in a while. Then Caroline's brain returned to her and she thought, Ahhh... I got it. He's trying to impress me, seeing as I got bored with him. HA! Well, two can play at that game...
Caroline smiled maliciously and followed Jesse over to the lake, so silently he would have no chance of hearing her. She was right behind him when she said, "Screw being sensible. I'll just turn the lake into a hot tub or something." Caroline hated swimming, but she might as well let him think he was winning... for now.

Jesse turned slightly and rose an eyebrow. He was slightly confused as to why she had decided to join him and ruffled his hair, stopping at the edge. "I don't believe the Giant Squid would like it if you did that, might get very angry actually. And really, it's not that cold out, and the water isn't that cold either. I swam in it just the other day and was perfectly fine," Jesse informed her softly, letting a smile touch his lips.
That was the day he had spent with Bella. And a few days before that Nikki. Why did he always end up in the lake... with pretty women? Jesse smiled softly and devested himself of hi jeans, shoes and socks. he rolled his shoulders, then waded into the water until he was waist deep. He turned and gave her a wicked grin. "Coming? See it's not too cold," Jesse said softly, smiling at her, waiting patiently.

Caroline raised an eyebrow, then rolled her eyes and said, "Give me a second." She stepped behind a tree a turned her clothes into a skimpy silver bikini that showed off her slim figure to perfection. She stepped out from behind the tree. "Ok, NOW I'm coming in." She smiled and dived into the lake. It was absolutely freezing, but whatever. It should get better in a minute, and if not, ZAP hot tub.
Carrie swam out, underwater, into the middle of the lake and surfaced there.

Jesse nodded as she slipped behind a tree. he turned a second before she dove and saw the bikini. He gulped. Bella, Bella, Bella, Jesse thought, pulling his mind away from Caroline's breautiful body. As she swam underwater, Jesse smiled softly. He swam up behind her and poked her back, backstroking smoothly away. He grinned. "Now what shall we do Caroline?" Jesse asked playfully, backstroking in large circles around her, making sure he was a few arms lengths away from her at all times, grinning.

Caroline's eyes followed Jesse as he circled around her. When he asked what they should do, she shrugged and dove underneath the water again. Carrie swam out of the little circle Jesse was backstroking around, and emerged on the other side. She shook her wet curls out of her eyes and flipped onto her back, arms behind her head, floating absently around. Caroline was beginning to get used to the frigid water; now it only seemed cool.
"I actually have no idea," Caroline said, still floating. "Unless you want to have a who can stay under the water longest without any charms contest, which I will undoubtedly win."

Jesse rose an eyebrow, stopping his circle and turning towards her. "Well, what the heck. Let's try it. You seem to find me boring if I talk, so I shall do something to keep my mouth shut," Jesse replied, giving a grin. He swam slightly closer. "ready?" Jesse asked.

Caroline grinned. "Definitely." She flipped back onto her stomach, and then to a treading-water-position. "Three, Two, one... go," She said, and plunged head-first into the water. She swam down a fair distance, and then crossed her legs and bobbed there for a while. Then she swam to a large rock and sat down on it, holding onto the ridges with one hand to keep from floating up.

At her voice, Jesse slid under the water. Her crossed his legs and sank like a rock, his muscle being enough to hold him down. He opened his eyes and looked around, seeing Caroline sitting on a rock nearby. He smiled and stretched his arms out, then folded them over his chest. How a woman can be so boring, yet bellay such an interesting personality is beyond me. She seems like she couldbe really awesome, but seems to bore with me before we even talk, Jesse thought silently. He sighed, keeping his breath held.

Caroline saw Jesse come down and sink like a rock. She rolled her eyes and waved, a smile flashing across her face. She wasn't concerned that she was going to lose; her record was eighteen minutes and Carrie was sure that she could beat that if need be. No doubt that Jesse would be swimming frantically to the surface in a couple minutes at most.

Jesse returned the smile and waved. She seemed so sure that she would win. Jesse had always won those little competitions when the need arose. He had been known to sit at the bottom of the lake or even swim around for well over 15 minutes. By that time, everyone was sure he dead and pulled him out, so he didn't know his record. He didn't really care who won though. He smiled and looked around, trying to find something of interest.

Caroline grinned and jumped off her rock, diving deeper until she touched the bottom of the black lake. She lounged there for a moment, then swam upwards, shooting by Jesse and terrifying a school of fish. She giggled, mentally, and glided smoothly back to her rock, flipping around and around. Well, she had to entertain herself somehow.
(Who should win? This could go on forever...)
