Tom rolled his eyes and muttered something involving a long walk off a short pier and turned to face the other. Thankfully, relief came in the appearance of the arrival of a few other staff members. He smiled as Matt sat down, a smile that quickly turned to a frown when the beast herself moved in on Matt. So that was her plan, worm her way in with Matt so he couldn't do anything to her, well he'd soon put a stop to that. Now however was not the right time or place so he decided to let his anger simmer for a while. He turned as he saw a rather charming young lady sit down nearer to him. He nodded politely as she greeted them. ''Hello there, I don't believe I have had the pleasure of your acquaintance?'' He smiled and extended a hand ''Please, call me Tom.''

Jocelyn had finally finished fussing over herself. Her gaze ran to Hale, who seemed to just dismiss her. She rolled her eyes lightly and smiled as her gaze landed on Jason. "Hello again Jason."
Jocelyn then heard another speak to her. A rather handsome man sitting near her. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I seem to have been rather rude. I'm Jocelyn Williams. Jocelyn will be fine." She took his hand gently and smiled, "I'm sorry for being so frazzled. I've had a long day. I'm the new healer and Apparition professor. It's a pleasure to meet you, Tom."

Caroline smiled. "Of Course, Sir ... er, sorry. Matt. That's exceedingly weird..." She rolled her eyes. "My Mother used to be a professor and this entire summer she was drilling me on the lifestyles of Professor and she kept repeating And Carrie, dearest, remember: never call another professor by their first name until at least after the christmas break. By then you should be well enough aquainted that that should be alright. BUT, under no circumstances, are you to EVER call a headmaster by his given name. That betrays all rules of etiquitte! But then again, My mother was always an idiot," Caroline rolled her eyes, then picked up a glass of water in front of her and took a delicate sip. It tasted awful. She looked at it, then put the glass down and pulled a bottle of water from her robe pocket. She unscrewed the cap, and said, "I have issues with beverages. None of them taste right. I've been like that since I was two, and It's an absolute pain." Caroline shrugges, and sipped from her water bottle, her eyes travelling around the great hall.

Jason rubbed his eyes as he listened to somebody mention about their mother. He felt like zombie he was so deprived of sleep. Opening his eyes, he looked over at his childhood friend, Jocelyn. He gave a small nod. "Hey." he said quietly.

Tom smiled as she daintily took his hand, he kissed it gently and let it fall back onto her lap. ''Oh not at all, it's to be expected, I always find first days to be rather hectic, I completely lost my lesson plans while moving in to my classroom. It provided hours of amusement in trying to find them among my grandfather's things.'' He laughed while sipping his pumpkin juice.
''Ah, apparition? I cant quite manage it perfectly myself, even after all this practice. Perhaps I'll drop in someday?'' He smiled and was about to ask Matt something when he heard Caroline still talking ad quickly turned back to Jocelyn. ''So then, what did you do prior to coming here?''

Jocelyn smiled softly at the gentle kiss she seemed to have recieved. The former Hufflepuff gnetly rested her hand back down in her lap before she spoke in response to Tom, "Yes, first days tend to be hetic. Organizing the lessons and my office and the hospital wing, it was a rush. I'm quite sure that it had to be rather amusing. I hope you did find them. It would be terrible if you didn't have them by your first class."
Jocelyn picked up her glass of juice and took a sip before setting it back down, turning back to Tom. "Yes, Apparition. I always found it to be something very exciting. And it is rather hard to get down, but after a few years of practice, I say I'm rather good. I wouldn't mind at all if you were to drop in. It'd be my pleasure to have you as a special guest, Tom."
Tom's next question had caught her by surprise. No one really ever asked her what she had done before hand. She smiled and played with the edge of her shirt, "Well, when I graduated Hogwarts, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. So I stayed in the Muggle world, helping my brother-in-law out with his book shop."
