Cole sighed softly as he pet his owl slowly. He hated the creaters of this castle most of the days and today was one that was up on the charts. They had to put the owlery up on the top of some tower where the steps get really icy and the wind blew even more.
He shook his head and gave a little treat to his pure black owl, smiling some. "I don't know how you can stand the cold, must be all the feathers or something. I'm freezing up here, plus I almost died on the steps." Cole mumbled the last part more to himself as he continued to give little treats to his bird.

Cold. Nikki hated the cold, she never understood why it had exist. Why could the winter months be lukewarm with a sunny breeze? It would be better then freezing to death, that's for sure. Bundled up in long sleeved shirt and a hoodie, she was still freezing. Maybe it was cause she had no body fat, or maybe just because the cold hated her as well.
Clutching a letter in her hand tightly, she practically sprinted up the stairs. Not mention nearly killing herself on the way there. As she pushed her way through the Owlery, she paid no attention if anybody was there or not. her mind was focused on the cold. "I hate the cold!" she exclaimed as she searched for her owl.

Cole jumped as the door flew open, sending a girl and a big blast of cold air over to him. Cole quickly shut the door, shivering some. "Me too so lets not try to kill ourself with big gusts of freezing air." Cole shook his head as he huddled deeper into his layers, moving back over to his owl that seemed to be laughing at them. "Oh hush Star. It IS cold." He shook his head, glancing over at the girl. "Steps still bad?"

Nikki felt her cheeks turn a bit pink from embarrassment, it seems that somebody had heard her complain about the snow. Handing the letter to her owl she pet his forehead gently. "Send it home." she said and watched her owl fly off.
She nodded her head to his question. "Yeah, I nearly killed myself coming up here." she said with a shiver. Brushing some hair out of her eyes she smiled at the boy. "Nicola Rivers."

Cole gave a laugh as he nodded his head. "Yeah, I just about killed myself as well. Horrable steps." He shook his head and smiled as she introduced herself. "Well it's nice to meet you Nicola. I'm Cole White."

Nikki folded her arms abit, trying to stay warm. Letting out a sigh, she looked around. "Why can't the cold just stop existing? Instead of cold there should be something else, like warmth." she said and looked over at him and smiled. "Nice to meet you Cole."

Cole nodded his head, totally agreeing with her. "Yeah, warmth would be nice. Nice seventy degrees of warmth. I could even deal with sixty too." He sighed and shook his head, keeping his arms close to keep warm. "Or why not put the owlery closer to the ground where it wasn't as windy." He once again sighed.

She smiled and nodded her head. "Or how about put a fire place in here? I just hate the cold!" she said with a shiver. She wrapped her arms around her, trying not to freeze. "I like all of those ideas. Mainly the warmer weather ideas."

Cole laughed and nodded his head. "Yeah, a fire place or well anything would be nice." He shook his head some and headed over to the door. "Want to head down to a nice warm fireplace? I'm going to freeze solid if I stay up here anymore."
